Woman Shoots Daughter, Grandchildren in Murder-Suicide: Police

Police in Palm Beach County believe a woman shot her daughter and two young grandchildren before shooting herself Saturday afternoon.

Greenacres Police said the four were found dead from gunshot wounds in what appears to have been a murder-suicide in the home, located in the 4600 block of Chariot Circle, according to NBC affiliate WPTV.

A family friend discovered the grisly scene just after noon Saturday.

Police said 53-year-old Nilda Sheffield is suspected of killing her daughter, 30-year-old Elizabeth Flores, and her two grandchildren, 7-year-old Xavier and 2-year-old Sofia.

Investigators do not yet have a motive for the killings. Neighbors were shocked to hear of the deaths.

"It's crazy because it's like one day you're here and the next day you're gone," neighbor Jeffrey Blanc told WPTV. "I used to see those people every day."

Relatives have set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral costs for the family.
